Ontario is building for the next generation of economic growth, making investments to unleash its advantages in critical minerals and energy resources. In addition, the government is helping people and businesses across the province seize new opportunities from artificial intelligence and generational investments in national security projects that can support Ontario’s defence industries. These efforts build on the strong foundations being created by Ontario’s measures to fortify the province’s industrial base.
To unleash the province’s full economic potential, the government is also taking actions to strengthen Ontario’s competitiveness by building capital, reducing barriers to internal trade and investing in skills and training. This includes reducing red tape, streamlining permitting to accelerate approvals, lowering costs for businesses and workers and fostering a highly skilled workforce, which will help to increase productivity and create new opportunities across the province. Ontario’s efforts have already created the conditions for growth that have helped attract more than $235 billion in investments since 2018.
Together, these measures will help to build Ontario’s industries of the future, and continue to support a more competitive, resilient and self-reliant economy to live, work and invest in.
